Midgard: Legends of Domatu
The Setting
The world of Damatu is vast and shaped by ongoing conflicts and ancient catastrophes, such as the shattering of the continent Awernesi. The game features diverse "narrative spaces" to support different playstyles, ranging from the deadly, monster-filled Shattered Lands to the protected refuge of the Westdrift and the fog-shrouded Pirate Republic of Daidar.
The Characters
Players can build their adventurers from six species: Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, Halflings, and the feline Neshu. Characters are not ordinary mortals; they utilize "Fate Coins" to bend destiny in their favor. As they complete adventures, their specific deeds become "Legends" that organically spread across the world, shape the narrative, and grant them powerful abilities known as "Gifts of Fate". You can use the Character Builder application to create your hero. Be sure to check with your Game Master about any limitations, such as starting level, for Domatu's newest hero.
The Mechanics
The game utilizes a D20-based system for Success Rolls and Opposed Success Rolls, where the die result is added to a character's skill or resistance stats. The system features varying degrees of success (including minor and critical successes), a dual-pool health system that tracks Health Points (HP) and Stamina Points (SP) separately, and a magic system fueled by diverse origins like Palganic, Elemental, Chaotic, and Spiritual.
