William "LegendaryBill" Balvanz
Founder, President
A veteran educator and instructional designer, LegendaryBill specializes in "hardening the engine." With a professional background in breaking down complex topics for North American telecommunications, he applies a rigorous IT mindset to TTRPG mechanics. His goal? To ensure that once the session starts, the book stays on the shelf.
Nina Balvanz
Marketing, Proofreading
A former educator with a Master’s from UConn, Nina brings a multilingual perspective and a sharp editorial eye to the team. As a relative newcomer to the hobby, she serves as the ultimate litmus test for accessibility. Nina balances the "crunch" of the mechanics with a focus on narrative flow, ensuring our games are as evocative as they are functional.
Princess Wonton
Creative Lead, Snack Destroyer
A pug of many talents, Wonton oversees our day-to-day operations. Her primary responsibilities include "snack destruction," charcuterie quality testing, and the rapid recovery of any dice that dare to leave the table. She is the heart of our "togetherness-first" philosophy.
About Terminal Viscosity Games
Hardening the engine. Flowing with the story.
At Terminal Viscosity Games, we believe the best gaming experiences happen when the rules get out of the way of the story. Based in Springfield, Illinois, our small but dedicated studio is built on the belief that a game engine should be bullet-proof, and the player’s experience should be seamless.
Our Story
Our journey began in the fall of 1983, when a coverless AD&D Player’s Handbook was rescued from a book burning by a not-yet-Legendary Bill. That single act of defiance sparked a forty-year obsession with game mastering and systems design. Today, we combine that "old school" passion with over a decade of professional experience in instructional design and IT. We don't just make games; we break down complex mechanics to create intuitive play aids, reference cards, and streamlined systems that keep the focus where it belongs—on the players, not the rulebook.
